The weather in Colorado Springs has been pretty beautiful lately. Although we get the occasional late afternoon thunderstorm, we've been having warm, sunny weather that makes me want to get outside and walk around. So that's what I've done, twice already this week! Downtown Colorado Springs is about a 15-20 minute drive from our house, and I really enjoy walking around looking at the different shops and spending some time in the pretty Acacia Park. I think Brennan really enjoys the change of scenery too. In fact, we spent some time in the park today lying on a blanket underneath a bright green tree that he stared at for quite some time!
As we drove through our neighborhood on our way home I noticed the sunflowers popping up everywhere. Amazingly, they grow like weeds here! I decided to take a few pictures to show you all what I mean.

Dressing up our satellite dish for us:
I keep meaning to get out there and cut some to bring inside. Sunflowers definitely make a room look a little extra cheerful! By the way, you can probably see all the weeds surrounding our satellite dish. Our backyard STILL isn't landscaped even though we moved in at the end of March. I guess having a baby in April caused us to be a little extra busy but seriously, we need to get on it!
I'll leave you with one more picture of flowers...the ones on our front porch! I just love coming home to this view of our house. You may even notice a little basil plant that I'm (so far) successfully keeping alive (left of the bench).
Sorry for the kind of crooked shot #notaphotog
Anyways, I know that most of you really want to come to my blog to see pictures of Brennan! I promise he will be the feature of my next post :-)
Love,
Christine
