Last week nothing very interesting happened. Mike and I gave a shot and making ribs...they didn't turn out great. Friday afternoon he left to pick up Sean and Kevin and I was alone for the weekend. Ok not the whole weekend, Friday night I hung out with Jessica eating popcorn with m&ms and watching the Notebook.
I finally got a new disc of our engagement pictures so I spent a lot of time going through those and making a guest book with them. I posted some of them on facebook (there are 142 total!), but here I will just put my very favorite ones.
First of all, it was a very chilly, windy morning in Chicago. For those of you who don't know about Olive Park (I was one of you until this shoot) it is right next to Navy Pier and has quite a few interesting places for pictures. Luckily we got the shoot finished before it rained. The wind blew my hair around like crazy so I probably would have liked more of the photos if my hair was more tame!
This one was taken while we were standing in the middle of very tall grass/plants. As effortless as this looks, I believe Mike may have been struggling a bit to hold me in this position...it turned out very good nonetheless:
This one I love because at first glance it just looks like a nice shot of the lake and the skyline, but look closer and it's us! I actually got this printed as a 20x30 poster that I will frame and hang on the wall. It will be at the wedding reception as well :o)
This picture is great because it's very candid. Our photographer Cristina was cool with just letting us hang out and act natural while she snapped away.
Love this one with the ferris wheel in the background...I'm pretty sure we were standing like this because I was so cold....I mean...because we love each other so much!
As cheesy as this picture is I really like the fading in the corners. It reminds me of an old photograph back when they were all black & white!
Ahhh the ring...beautiful!
I think I did a good job of limiting my "favorites" to just 6 out of 142!
Saturday I decided to drive to a mall in South Austin to kill some time while hanging out by myself. This mall was pretty big, with Nordstroms, Macy's, Dillards, JC Penny, and of course all the stores in between. I was looking for a few different things but mainly something to wear for my bachelorette party! It was hard because I was being very picky. I wanted a top to wear with skinny jeans. The top needed to be a color other than black (that's what the girls will all be wearing) and I wanted it to be kind of dressy and not too expensive. Finally I found something at Arden B. that was 50% off!!
You've already heard about my Saturday night...wine, Twilight, and place cards :o) Sunday morning Mike, Sean, and Kevin got back around 11:30 and I made them some breakfast. Mike took them back to the airport and then finally I got to hang out with my fiance again!!
After going the whole weekend without seeing Mike now I have to go this entire Monday without seeing him too! After work he will hang around Killeen until he goes to a "Hail and Farewell." It's basically a dinner the squadron has to welcome newcomers or to say farewell to people leaving. Mike already had his "farewell" in September...this one is for the squadron commander and some others. Normally I go with him but I don't feel like driving out to Killeen where we would have two cars, and they're usually pretty boring anyways.
This week is already going by fast because we will be leaving Thursday morning for Chicago!! It's so unbelievable that all of this wedding stuff is finally happening! We'll get to Orland Park Friday afternoon and most likely will need to rest up and hang out with the animals of course! Saturday we have to go to Pre Canna at a church in Midlothian for 8 hours (ok, we're procrastinators!) and then it's time for my bachelorette party!! Margaret planned an awesome night that I am soooo looking forward to!
Can't wait to see all of my friends and family back in Illinois!
