At the end of March I made a visit home to Orland Park for the weekend. When I was titling this post I was going to name it "A Visit Home," but then I decided I need to start embracing these new locations that I live in with Mike as "home." On the other hand, I just saw an embroidered towel in a shop that said "Home is wherever your Mom is." I thought it was very true and so maybe I just have two homes from now on :o)
Anyways, I flew in on Friday afternoon and good ol' Dennis was (as usual) happy to pick me up at Midway. What a great Dad! We got home and I had some play time with my pal Rosie while we waited for Mom to get home. Later that evening we headed out to our traditional Friday night place: Barraco's. (Side note: I never remember how to spell Barraco's...two "r"s or two "c"s??) I had such a great time there (maybe too much of a good time, ask Melissa!) because I got to see so may people! Margaret, Melissa and I picked out some tunes at the juke box. I also bragged to Melissa about the awesome new filet knife I got from Sam's club..."cuts through chicken like butter!" Melissa made fun of my blog, but the jokes on her because she's the one who reads it!! :o)
Saturday morning I headed to Mount Prospect for Melissa's bridal shower!! It was at her Aunt's house which was really beautiful. The food was excellent too! I was horrible about taking pictures this weekend but I got this one from facebook courtesy of Melissa's mom, Cindy.
Melissa and her bridesmaids/MOH/flower girl:
My favorite gift that Melissa received was a wireless Bose speaker...I REALLY want one of these but they are pretty expensive, sigh!
Saturday night my Mom and I headed out to Chicago to go see "Hunger Games" with the Caseys. It was great to see them and I love seeing movies at the Icon Theater. I thought the movie was pretty good but the company was even better. The only thing missing was Mike! (He had stayed home in Georgia because of his class)
Sunday my mom and I went out to Naperville to see Grandma and take her to lunch. After that we came home and got ready for a little birthday dinner for Matt. Sunday night Erin came over and we spent a couple hours just chatting and catching up!
Monday morning my mom and I did a little shopping and I sadly had my last play time with Rosie before heading to the airport (thanks to Matt for driving me there!)
I wish I hadn't been so lazy with the camera and had gotten some pictures with the family! Oh well, next time!
Thanks to everyone who made an effort to see me during my weekend home, I had such a great time!
Love,
Christine
